Trainee Ski/Snowboard Instructor/Rental Assistant


We are looking for 5 young people between the ages of 16-24 that live in Ayrshire to take part in this years Instructor & Volunteer Pathway. This Pathway offers participants a fun environment with the opportunity to increase confidence, meet new people, gain qualifications, a reference, gain valuable work experience and get some exercise at the same time.

No formal qualifications are required for this post however, we ask that you are comfortable with communicating face to face or on the phone with a wide range of people. Ideally you should also demonstrate:

  • an ability to ski/snowboard at recreational level
  • reliability
  • good written and spoken English skills
  • an ability to work as part of a team
  • an ability to complete tasks effectively and efficiently

You will receive training in:

  • First Aid
  • Group Management
  • Instructing children and young people
  • Snowsport Scotland - Assistant Snow Sports Instructor Training
  • Safeguarding & Protecting Children Training
  • How to coach people with additional needs in sport
  • Rossignol Rental Technician Qualification
  • Goal Setting
  • Customer Service
  • Access to advanced ski or snowboard instruction.
  • You will also have the chance to shadow different people within the organisation, thus getting a broad understanding of different disciplines.
  • Lastly, you will have the opportunity to increase your awareness of the snow sports and social enterprise industry in Scotland.
